The handle types on my fishing rod are all types of hand tools, but mostly because of what I need for fishing. I need a handle that I can grip with both my hands to fish, and a handle that is comfortable to use while fishing. The handle should be large and sturdy enough to use in the water, but be comfortable enough for the rest of my body to use as well.
